SWF U15 ladies Scottish Cup Report

SWF U15 Scottish Cup 2nd Round

FC Kilmarnock Ladies 5-1 Murieston United

A comfortable victory for our U15's at The Grange Campus yesterday sees them into the draw for the third round.
A good start to the first half saw Holly Hart net after a lovely crossfield pass from Abigail Eadie found her with acres of room on the right flank. Two further goals saw the Killie youngsters on easy street, one from outside the box from Amy Murdoch and another from Hart, who skipped along the bye line before finishing between the keeper and the near post.
A Kari Stewart effort sent Killie in at the break 4-0 to the good and was the pinnacle of a fine overall performance from her on the day.
Second half saw Murieston come out with a lot more purpose, aggression and direction. Their efforts paid off when a good cross-cum-shot from the left caught Laura Thomson off her line, the ball ending up just inside the far post, giving the visitors a sniff of a chance of getting back into the game.
Killie weathered the storm though, and had the chance of extending their lead from the penalty spot after Danielle Mullen was fouled in the box. Eadie's spot kick, however, was well stopped by the Murieston 'keeper, who was having a good day between the sticks.
Eadie then was able to forget about her spot kick, as she danced into the box before finishing clinically, restoring Killies' four goal advantage,
No more scoring, but the youngsters safely into the pot for the 3rd round draw and a good response after the disappointment of the previous week....what a difference a week makes!!
