RIP Jake McInally

I

Our condolences go to the family and friends of Killie legend Jackie McInally who sadly passed away last night.

Big Jake, who would have been 80 in November, made 296 (+1 sub) appearance for Ayrshire’s finest scoring 127 goals in the process, 6 of which were from his 13 appearances in European competition and 11 in our championship winning season.

He signed in 1959 and stayed eight years with his last appearance, the one and only as a substitute, in the league against Hearts at Rugby Park. The big inside forward will be fondly remembered by Killie fans from his own era and beyond, individually and as part of one of finest teams ever to pull on the stripes.

We are sure there will be a few raised glasses and raised voices today singing - “McInally, McInally, JAKE! JAKE! JAKE!”
