Season Diary - Week 22
When the team lines were released on Saturday I could not have been the only person to have a WTF moment.
Our one fit centre-half on the bench and two defensive midfielders (Dicker and Wilson) charged with the task of stopping Doolan getting his customary goal, someone was having a laugh, no?
The irony that we kept a clean sheet after that towsing at Tynecastle will not be lost on anyone.
I have to give credit to the players for the effort they expended in what must have been a difficult game in more ways than one, the weather was atrocious for starters.
But, they stuck to whatever game plan Lee Clark had devised and won an acceptable point away from home.
We have apparently asked to loan three Newcastle second string players after the break, we certainly need the midfield boosted but a defender or two wouldn’t go wrong!
