Season Diary - Week 25
Back at the start of the season when we made an early exit from the League Cup and it was put down to fielding too many new players.
I never thought we’d be experiencing the same sixth months later!
Individually the new players looked decent enough, but as a team we didn’t offer much going forward and that has to be rectified soon.
I don’t like the idea of our best player from recent seasons being benched unless he is being transferred, and I don’t fancy losing McDonald with no permanent replacement signed.
I also don’t see why we are not starting our top goalscorer, in his proper position, and utilising the blank firing Tyson’s pace down the wing instead…but what do I know?
On Sunday the youth team showed a bit more cup fight in their quarter final against the Yahoos.
The first half was forgettable, derby nerves let’s say, but the second half made the weekend.
McLean scored a bullet header, they equalised straight away.
McLean scores a penalty, Wilson yellow carded and they score one back.
Wilson then red carded, another penalty, McKay saves it, extra time.
Ten man Killie lose a goal early, but a Whittaker brace in the closing minutes wins it for Ayrshire’s finest.
