The dinner dance organised by the Kilmarnock FC Supporters Association, the Killie Trust and the junior supporters club, Young Kilmarnock, was attended by the vast majority of the 1997 playing squad and management team. It featured special video messages from Marie Osmond, rock giants Biffy Clyro and of course some cup winning heroes who were unable to attend, and was sold out well in advance.
Jim Thomson of the Killie Supporters Trust said "Although not a fundraising event, such was the success of the evening that we are delighted to be able divide the proceeds between Ayrshire Cancer Support and the three supporter's organisations. Our allocation will help boost the Trust In Killie initiative, which has been set up to purchase 100,000 shares in our Club to secure a fans voice on the KFC Board".
Club photographer Sandy Ferguson was on hand to snap representatives of the organisations with the obliatory comedy sized cheque. Featured are Jim Thomson (Chairman, Killie Trust), Iain Sherry (Supporters Association), Jackie Stanley, Anne Clark (Ayrshire Cancer Support) and Tracey Grant (Young Kilmarnock).
